Personal Exhibition of Niko Pirosmani

    On March 15, on the initiative of the National Agency for Cultural Heritage Preservation of Georgia 15 canvases by Niko Pirosmanishvili were transfered from N. Pirosmanishvili State Museum. It is considerable that the originals were being exhibitied at the Art Palace of Georgia for the first time after 1978. Among the collection is a graphic sketch by Pablo Picasso of Pirosmani, painted in 1972. This is the first time that Tbilisi has witnessed the Georgian painter’s exhibition on such a scale. The exhibition was attended by the Minister of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia, Mikheil Giorgadze, Director of the Niko Pirosmanashvili State Museum, Anzor Madzgarashvili and other important guests.
