On May 4, the bust of honored artist - Omar Kelaptrishvili was opened in the Art Palace’s garden for immortals. The event was supported by the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection.
Summed guests reminded Kelaptrishvili’s work and contribution for his nativeland.
Omar Kelaptrishvili was genial even in his lifetime. The owner of many international prize greatly managed to spread the name of Georgian folklore outside the Soviet Union. He esteablished instrumental ensamble ’Rustavi’ and ’Iavnana’ which’s name later was modified into ’Kelaptari’.
